YouTube terminating Tenet Media channel after US indictment

Google (GOOGL.O) launches a new tab In response to an indictment from the US Department of Justice, YouTube said on Thursday that it was shutting down the Tenet Media channel as well as the four channels run by Lauren Chen, the owner of Tenet.
Two employees of the Russian state media network RT were charged with money laundering by the Justice Department on Wednesday. According to officials, the allegations stemmed from a plan to engage an American corporation to create online material with the intention of influencing the 2024 presidential election.
According to officials from the Justice Department, the two workers paid an unidentified Tennessee firm $10 million to create web movies that were intended to widen political rifts in the country by using shell corporations and false identities.

Despite not being mentioned in the indictment, Tenet Media, a Nashville-based business that has uploaded almost 2,000 movies to YouTube in less than a year, is identified by information found in court documents.
